Bobb’e J. Thompson Sentenced
Former child actor Bobb’e J. Thompson has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a felon. His case highlights the challenges faced by some child stars, with several former Disney Channel and Nickelodeon actors encountering legal troubles as adults.
In Thompson’s case, he will spend more than two years behind bars followed by three years of supervised release. His arrest occurred after authorities stopped a vehicle he was driving at 104 mph in a 70 mph zone. Officers found marijuana and a loaded stolen handgun in his backpack. Thompson had previous convictions, including assault-related offenses and a firearm conviction, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa.
