Leadership Changes at Good Good Golf Amid Controversy

The ongoing controversy surrounding Good Good Golf and its problematic advertisement has led to significant leadership changes within the company. Both the president and the CEO have stepped down amidst the fallout.

Leadership Resignations

Joe Flannery, who recently became the president of Good Good, has resigned. Matt Kendrick, CEO and co-founder, has also left the company. Both departures follow Kendrick’s public criticism of Callaway, which cut its partnership with Good Good due to the advertisement.

Alex Puchala, head of operations and finance, communicated these changes in a company memo. Nahid Giga, a co-founder, will act as interim CEO in Kendrick’s absence.

The Controversial Advertisement

Good Good, a popular YouTube channel and golf brand, collaborated with Callaway in August for a new driver. The advertisement showed co-founder Garrett Clark pushing a female team member to the ground. Although removed, the ad resulted in severe repercussions.

This led to a split between Good Good and the PGA Tour, among other consequences. Callaway stated that their content review process needed improvement and have since reinforced their internal procedures.

Responses and Repercussions

Callaway’s statement acknowledged their role in approving the advertisement. Matt Kendrick criticized how the company handled the situation via social media. He also hinted at possible legal action against Callaway, though these comments were later retracted.

Despite the turmoil, Good Good continues to release content to its over 2 million YouTube subscribers.
