The company stated that Santos did not cooperate with their inquiry. Evidence revealed that he shared social media posts expressing his excitement about attending Trump’s State of the Union address. Meanwhile, he placed bets predicting he would not attend the event.
Reacting to the ban, Santos commented on social media platform X: “Thanks for the lifetime ban from your gambling platform. Let’s see how much longer you guys are around for.”
Kalshi is also taking action against Laurie Buckhout, a Congressional candidate from North Carolina, who reportedly placed bets on her own campaign. Additionally, billionaire Stephen Cloobeck faced disciplinary measures for betting on his intended gubernatorial campaign in California, which he later abandoned.
This enforcement highlights concerns about prediction markets potentially influencing election outcomes. Experts worry these platforms could lead to chaos in the upcoming November elections.
