Justin Herbert, quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers, and Madison Beer, a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, have announced their engagement. The news was shared in a heartfelt Instagram post displaying a photo of Herbert on one knee, presenting a ring box to a delighted Beer. The caption simply stated, “Meet my fiancé.”
Messages of congratulations poured in from both the NFL and the Chargers, as well as singer Gracie Abrams. The couple’s relationship became public last August when Beer was seen attending Chargers games. Their affection for each other was evident when they were spotted kissing on the sidelines during a game. In addition to supporting Herbert at football games, the two have been seen together at Los Angeles Dodgers and Lakers events.
Herbert made an appearance in Beer’s music video for the song “lovergirl” earlier this spring. Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh has expressed support for Herbert’s relationship. He humorously offered transport to the airport when Herbert missed part of the voluntary offseason workouts to accompany Beer on her tour.
Herbert, at 28 years, is gearing up for his seventh season with the Chargers, although he has yet to lead the team to a playoff victory. Meanwhile, Beer, aged 27, has been in the public eye since Justin Bieber shared a video of her singing “At Last” back in 2012. She released her debut single the following year, with Bieber featuring in the video. Despite battling social anxiety, she received Grammy nominations in both 2024 and 2025.
Herbert begins training camp soon, marking the start of another critical season for the Chargers.
