Jaxson Dart’s Knee Injury Puts Giants Season in Question

Jaxson Dart, quarterback for the New York Giants, remains uncertain about returning this season due to a knee injury. A source confirmed ongoing medical evaluations of Dart’s left knee following an injury sustained in a game against the Los Angeles Rams.

The team and medical professionals are assessing the injury to decide the best course of action. There is a possibility Dart may require surgery for a detached MCL ligament, potentially leading to a recovery period of four to five months. His injury occurred early during the game on September 21, 2026, in Inglewood, California.

“Evaluations are ongoing,” said Giants coach John Harbaugh during his post-game press conference. “We haven’t made any final decisions yet. A lot more needs to be learned before we know the next steps.”

Coach Harbaugh explained that Dart is seeking a second opinion on the MRI results. Future decisions will be made after consulting with Dart and the medical team.

The scenario could be challenging for the Giants, who might promote Jameis Winston as the starting quarterback while Jake Haener is likely to be elevated from the practice squad. Brandon Allen might also be considered for addition to the roster.

The Giants have endured numerous impactful injuries in recent years, affecting key players like Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo, Andrew Thomas, and Saquon Barkley. Such setbacks have hindered their performance, despite being unrelated to their New York location.

Giants fans are reminded of ongoing struggles and injured players as the team faces potential challenges ahead.
