Jake Lang Arrested for Terroristic Threats in Dallas

Jake Lang, a far-right influencer and former defendant in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, was arrested in Dallas, Texas, on charges of making terroristic threats. The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that 31-year-old Lang was taken into custody after disembarking from a flight in Dallas. He faces a third-degree felony charge and is currently in the Dallas County Jail.

Lang’s arrest is linked to recent activities outside the Collin County courthouse. He appeared there multiple times during the murder trial of Karmelo Anthony, a teenager convicted for the April 2025 stabbing death of Austin Metcalf. A jury found Anthony guilty, sentencing him to 35 years in prison.

Anthony’s family alleged that Lang threatened to shoot Anthony if he was not convicted. Lang was seen holding a “White Lives Matter” sign with Metcalf’s photo at the courthouse. In a video on his social media, Lang, claiming to be speaking from jail, stated, “They’ve arrested me for a felony, termed terroristic threats, simply because I indicated we the people would seek justice if Anthony was not found guilty.”

Lang’s bond is set at $1 million. Efforts to contact Lang’s legal representatives remain unsuccessful. This arrest is the latest in Lang’s encounters with law enforcement. Previously, he was arrested in Frisco, Texas, for trespassing and faced charges in Minnesota for vandalizing a sculpture.

Lang was initially indicted on 11 counts for his role in the Jan. 6 riot. He received a pardon from President Trump before his trial. Andrew Anthony, Karmelo Anthony’s father, expressed some relief at Lang’s arrest but noted ongoing racial threats against his family.

The trial of Karmelo Anthony attracted significant media coverage and public protests. In light of the tensions, Metcalf’s father, Jeff Metcalf, has urged the public not to politicize his son’s death, stating his forgiveness towards Anthony.
