Indiana Fever Triumph Over Minnesota Lynx

The Indiana Fever secured a significant 96–77 victory against the Minnesota Lynx, the top team in the league, in their final regular season game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. A collective strong performance from the Fever’s starters and the absence of Minnesota’s Olivia Miles due to a calf injury played a crucial role in the victory.

Indiana dominated early, establishing a 23-point lead by halftime, marking the Lynx’s largest deficit this season. Minnesota’s coach Cheryl Reeve turned to her bench during the third quarter, which allowed the Lynx to regain some momentum and reduce the lead to single digits.

Myisha Hines-Allen of the Indiana Fever handled the ball skillfully during the game, contributing to the team’s overall performance. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark stood out with a game-high 27 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, almost achieving a triple-double.

An adjustment was noted in the Fever’s strategy following their previous loss, with Sophie Cunningham spending more time on the court than rookie Raven Johnson. This change resulted in a more fluid offense for Indiana.

Indiana’s leading trio of Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell combined their efforts to score 67 points. Mitchell continued her impressive streak, recording her 27th consecutive game with 20 or more points.

Caitlin Clark commented on the win: “I thought our third quarter was a bit sloppy. You’ve got to give their bench credit, but overall I thought our pace and intentionality on the offensive end were good.”

The Fever’s victory over the top-seeded Lynx provides a vital momentum boost as they head into the playoffs, keeping their hopes for a first-round home-court advantage alive.

Indiana will conclude their regular season with a rematch against Minnesota, this time facing the Lynx on their home turf.
