Iconic ‘Star Wars’ Props Set for Auction with Expected High Bids

Next month, an exciting auction will take place, featuring the legendary lightsaber used by Darth Vader during the pivotal duel against Luke Skywalker in ‘The Empire Strikes Back.’ This prop, integral to the franchise’s dramatic revelation, is anticipated to command a price of at least $1 million at the Ultimate Star Wars Auction organized by Heritage Auctions on November 12.

The auction will include more than twenty lightsaber props, notably those utilized by Obi-Wan Kenobi, played by Ewan McGregor, and Anakin Skywalker, portrayed by Hayden Christensen in ‘Revenge of the Sith.’ Each of these lightsabers is expected to receive bids of at least $10,000.

Additional featured items include an EE-3 carbine blaster used by Boba Fett in ‘The Empire Strikes Back,’ projected to secure over $100,000, and a Rebel DH-17 Pistol seen with Rebel Alliance forces in the same film, anticipated to surpass $10,000.

Among other unique pieces is a Yoda puppet hand from Frank Oz’s original portrayal in ‘The Empire Strikes Back,’ Anthony Daniels’ signed third-draft screenplay for the 1977 ‘Star Wars’ film, and a TIE Fighter pilot helmet from ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.’

A mini snowspeeder, previously part of Carrie Fisher’s private collection and used during filming, is expected to sell for more than $10,000.

Earlier this year in July, a lightsaber paired with Luke Skywalker’s severed hand from ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ achieved a record sale, fetching $3.75 million, marking it the highest priced ‘Star Wars’ film prop sold to date, according to the auction house.
