Four Police Officers Injured in Wisconsin Incident

Four officers from the Green Bay Police Department were injured on Saturday morning during a response to a disturbance involving a crowd and a suspect. The incident took place at around 2:15 a.m. local time.

Officers were dealing with a disturbance at a food truck and attempted to take individuals into custody when a vehicle drove towards the crowd, including officers and bystanders. In response, one officer fired their weapon.

The suspect fled the scene, prompting a brief chase which concluded with officers employing a PIT maneuver. This tactic effectively stopped the vehicle.

The driver was apprehended without incident and is suspected of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

All four officers sustained injuries, though none were life-threatening. They received medical attention promptly.

No injuries were reported as a result of the officer’s gunfire.

Green Bay Police Chief Chris Davis mentioned during a news conference that it is unclear whether there was a connection between the suspect and the initial disturbance near the food truck. Some officers were injured prior to the vehicle driving into the crowd during their efforts to manage the situation.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office will assist in the ongoing investigation regarding the shooting involving law enforcement personnel.
