In Pereira, a city of approximately 500,000 residents, Mayor Mauricio Salazar reported 18 fatalities. Manizales Mayor Jorge Eduardo Rojas shared that two deaths occurred there and opened the coliseum as a shelter. Cali, Colombia’s third largest city, witnessed the collapse of at least 20 buildings, with people trapped, according to Mayor Alejandro Eder. Rescuers are assessing and addressing structural damage across affected areas.
