Corey Pavin Shares Update on Wife’s Cancer Treatment Journey

Professional golfer Corey Pavin has shared that his wife, Lisa, must undergo further hospital treatments for cancer. He had announced earlier that Lisa’s cancer “never went away completely.” In February, Pavin noted that Lisa, 52, had completed her final chemotherapy session. However, he recently posted online about her upcoming cell-based gene therapy treatment.

Pavin, a 1995 US Open champion, hasn’t disclosed the specific type of cancer his wife is battling. On social media, he wrote, “Seven plus months ago, I posted that (Lisa) had her last chemotherapy. We found out a couple of months ago that her cancer never went away completely.” Despite the tough news, Pavin remains hopeful about the treatment’s outcome.

“Over the last two months and after multiple visits to The Mayo Clinic, Lisa is getting her CAR-T infusion today. We are hoping and praying that this will kick her cancer’s a–!”

Pavin commended Lisa for her bravery and expressed gratitude towards the medical staff and their support network. “To the doctors, nurses, and everyone at The Mayo Clinic, a heartfelt thank you for your care and empathy,” he stated. He also thanked friends and family for their prayers, emphasizing their significance during this time.

The online support has been overwhelming, with many offering words of encouragement and prayers. Among those showing support are former athletes like Troy Aikman, Kenny Lofton, and Teemu Selanne.

Even amidst this personal challenge, Pavin continues to engage in professional golf. He participated in the Sanford International, finishing the competition at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
