For over three decades, I have dedicated myself to the field of education. I am now eligible for full retirement benefits. Yet, rather than enjoying a leisurely morning on my patio with my dogs, I find myself in the familiar surroundings of my office. As the principal of an elementary school in Phelps County, Missouri, I am embarking on my 31st year in this profession.
Our small school in rural Newburg is part of a broader initiative spreading throughout Missouri. This program is driving significant progress in education. Its success has encouraged me to remain engaged in my role.
