The Chicago White Sox emerged victorious over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday, securing a 14-11 win at Kauffman Stadium. Chase Meidroth played a pivotal role, hitting a three-run home run in the third inning after narrowly missing with a foul ball. Meidroth achieved a career-high five RBIs, contributing significantly to the team’s success in front of 15,785 fans.

he said. The victory helped keep the Sox just one game behind the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Central, maintaining their standings despite the Guardians’ win against the Boston Red Sox.
Chicago dominated the early innings, scoring in each of the first four. A key moment came with a five-run burst in the seventh inning. Left fielder Randal Grichuk noted the team’s collective effort. Meidroth began the offensive surge with a two-run single in the first inning. Brenton Doyle added a solo home run to start the second, marking the team’s 200th home run of the season. Meidroth’s three-run shot in the third extended the lead to 6-0.

Grichuk hit a three-run home run in the fourth, increasing the lead to 9-1. Grichuk missed completing a cycle by a triple, finishing 4-for-5 with two doubles. The Royals’ starter Daniel Lynch IV struggled, allowing nine runs over four innings.
Venable praised his team’s execution against Lynch. Came out with a game plan against Lynch and executed it. It was really nice to see.
Sox starter Anthony Kay pitched into the fifth inning, conceding four runs. He cited both effective pitching and missed spots in his outing.
Defensively, Braden Montgomery made a crucial throw in the first inning, catching a runner at third base. Grichuk also made an impressive catch in left field, preventing extra bases.
With the White Sox leading 9-3, reliever Noah Schultz entered in the fifth inning, retiring six consecutive batters and securing the win.
Munetaka Murakami contributed to another five-run inning in the seventh with his 33rd home run of the season. The Sox achieved at least four home runs in a game for the ninth time this season.
The Royals made a late push, including Vinnie Pasquantino’s grand slam in the ninth, but the Sox held firm.
