Insights from Carmen Electra
Carmen Electra, in a recent interview with Playboy, shared her experiences and advice on dating as one grows older. Answering fan queries, she provided guidance for both men and women navigating relationships.
“We do appreciate texting or calling appropriately,” she advised. “Avoid late-night calls asking someone to meet at a bar, especially at midnight. That’s a huge no-no.”
For women in their 40s looking to date after divorce, Electra emphasized that this phase is still youthful, encouraging them to enjoy life and have fun.
Advice Based on Experience
Electra has been through two marriages, first with NBA star Dennis Rodman in 1998, which was short-lived, and later with musician Dave Navarro from 2003 to 2007. Drawing from these experiences, she expressed a preference for the traditional approach where men make the first move.
“I’m old-fashioned, preferring the man to make the first move,” she shared. “Though I do my part by swaying my hips and batting my eyelashes. If they’re interested, they’ll approach or pass their number.”
Electra believes choosing a partner you enjoy being with is key to maintaining a spark in relationships. She values the spirit and personhood of a partner, appreciating those with artistic passions.
From Playboy to Hollywood
Electra’s Playboy debut in 1996 led to her casting in “Baywatch” for its eighth season in 1997. Reflecting on her career, she expressed amazement at being part of the iconic magazine and the subsequent opportunities in Hollywood.
“Once I saw the photos, I had to pinch myself. I couldn’t believe I was in the magazine and part of an iconic period,” Electra recounted.
She admired women like Marilyn Monroe, who also had beginnings with Playboy. Electra celebrated her roots at a recent 35th Anniversary event of The Abbey Food & Bar, donning a leopard-print bodysuit with bunny ears, continuing to embrace her playful image.
