The Arrival of Autumn
Autumn has finally arrived, bringing relief from the heat for those in the American South. Temperatures have finally dipped below 90 degrees after a 26-day streak, with highs still reaching 85 degrees.
Last week, a massive heat dome engulfed Tennessee, intensifying the heat. These temperatures make the anticipation for cooler weather all the more exciting. Some are even considering lighting pumpkin-scented candles to celebrate the season.
Keely Hodgkinson’s Fashion Choice
Keely Hodgkinson, an Olympic middle-distance runner for Team Great Britain, caught attention at the season-ending Athlos meet in North London. She wore a black catsuit, also known as a “zero-distraction speed suit” by Nike, diverging from the usual attire of tiny bottoms and tanks.
Her choice aligns with a broader conversation about athletic attire. Nike previously faced criticism over its Team USA track and field kits for the Paris Olympics. Despite accusations of unsuitable designs, athletes were provided with numerous clothing options, with many choosing more revealing outfits. Social media outrage often overshadows the discussions of comfort and functionality.
Kristi Noem’s Hunting Adventure
Kristi Noem has faced a challenging year. Recently, she successfully hunted a large elk during an archery trip in Wyoming. Despite Instagram labeling her post as graphic, her actions sparked both outrage and praise. Critics commented on the ethics of hunting, while supporters defended Noem’s stance.
In response, Noem emphasized the sustainability and benefits of hunting for family and community nourishment. She criticized those objecting without understanding the role of stewardship in nature, highlighting the reality of empty store shelves without such practices.
Reader Feedback and Reflections
Gary B. writes: “The deer population in New Jersey is so high that hunting season has extended. Hunting controls the ecosystem.”
Nikki S. comments: “Ella Langley’s critics only confirm her success. Many supporters grew up with hunting as both sport and sustenance.”

Many Miami Dolphins fans continue to support the team through highs and lows. Some hope for significant improvement, with a preference for a strategic approach if a losing season appears imminent.
