The latest Economist/YouGov poll reveals a new low for President Trump, with an approval rating of 34 percent. On Thursday’s episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ host Jimmy Kimmel addressed this development during a hiatus for many other late night shows.
“He is now down to 34 percent. He has the same approval rating as ‘Paul Blart: Mall Cop.’ The Blart of the Deal,” Kimmel stated. He added, “Trump’s approval numbers, like his testicles, have sunk to an all-time low. They are lower than they’ve ever been.”
“Not only is Trump at his lowest point, he’s also two points behind JD Vance. I don’t have a joke for that. I just want to make sure he knows, he’s two points behind JD Vance.” — JIMMY KIMMEL
When answering questions about the poll numbers, a White House spokesperson referenced the 2024 presidential election results, noting, “The ultimate poll was Nov. 5, 2024, when nearly 80 million Americans overwhelmingly elected President Trump to deliver on his popular and common-sense agenda.” Kimmel quipped, “OK, yeah. But now it’s May of 2026, and everybody hates him, so.”
Punchiest Punchlines
The U.S. Treasury Department suggested introducing a $250 bill featuring President Trump’s likeness to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary. Kimmel had sharp remarks on this proposal, commenting, “There he is, the least-popular bill since Cosby.” He further elaborated, “And, really, what better way to pay for a single tank of gas than with a bill featuring the head of the man who made it cost that much?”
