Chicago Police Resolve Standoff in Logan Square

Chicago police concluded a prolonged standoff in Logan Square with an individual barricaded inside a home. The situation began Monday afternoon and extended into the early hours of Tuesday.

The police department dispatched its SWAT team to the 3400 block of West Wrightwood Avenue after an emergency call was placed before midday on Monday. This is the same area where former Mayor Lori Lightfoot resides. A representative for her confirmed that she is safe and the incident does not involve her. No other injuries have been reported in the area.

A witness informed the Tribune on Monday afternoon that police appeared to be repeatedly addressing a man residing in the building involved in the SWAT operation. Authorities were instructing him to throw a rifle out of a window.
