Representative Joyce Beatty, a Democrat from Ohio, submitted an urgent motion aimed at preventing the Kennedy Center’s board of trustees from adding President Donald Trump’s name to the building. This move comes a week after the board, which aligns with Trump, voted for the second time to include his name on the structure.
Initially, in February, the board attempted to display Trump’s name by installing new signage. However, these letters were taken down in June. Beatty’s recent action took place on a Thursday night when she filed a motion requesting a federal judge to intervene and block the board’s decision.
