Far-left streamer Hasan Piker issued a warning Tuesday night, emphasizing that the socialist left could face increased opposition after Wisconsin state Rep. Francesca Hong lost the Democratic gubernatorial primary to Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley. Piker, during his livestream, suggested that Democratic establishment figures will intensify efforts to counter insurgent candidates as they now recognize the strength of the progressive movement.
Piker’s commentary followed his participation alongside Hong and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., at an August campaign rally. He interpreted the loss as a cautionary message for socialists hoping to build on recent primary successes. ‘It will be more difficult,’ Piker remarked, ‘because the establishment will not underestimate us. It will continue to undermine us, but they will not underestimate us.’

RNC national spokesperson Natalie Baldassarre responded to Piker’s statements by urging Democrats to distance themselves from the controversial figure. ‘Hasan Piker is a radical with a history of provocative remarks against his opponents,’ Baldassarre stated. ‘Democrats should disavow him, yet they often comply with his agenda.’
The primary highlighted a clash between the party’s socialist faction and its traditional coalition. Hong, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, received backing from figures such as Reps. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Ro Khanna, D-Calif., former Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner, and local DSA chapters. Crowley, after initially withdrawing, reentered the race with endorsements from retiring Democratic Gov. Tony Evers and several influential labor and local groups.

Despite previously collaborating with Piker during a campaign fundraiser, Hong attempted to separate herself from him in a July interview, clarifying that sharing a platform doesn’t equate to endorsing all of a host’s remarks.
Spencer Pratt, a former Los Angeles mayoral candidate, ridiculed the response from Piker and the DSA following Hong’s loss, suggesting their panic was evident. Piker, however, viewed Crowley’s victory as an able outcome, believing Crowley would potentially defeat Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany in the upcoming elections. ‘If Crowley wins, he will likely beat Tom Tiffany,’ Piker stated. ‘And that is positive.’
The primary’s conclusion was delayed due to ‘human error’ in Milwaukee’s vote count, with some election data inadvertently being recorded as audit logs instead of results, as explained by Milwaukee Election Commission Director Paulina Gutierrez.
Requests for comment were sent to Hong, Crowley, and the DNC by Fox News Digital, but responses were not immediately received.
