Barry Manilow postponed his concert in Kentucky on Tuesday, with the announcement made just 45 minutes before showtime. The music icon informed his fans on X that due to unforeseen circumstances tonight’s show in Lexington has been rescheduled. Manilow had previously been diagnosed with lung cancer last year, although no further details were provided regarding the rescheduling.
While some criticized the late notice as disrespectful,

Barry Manilow, who is 82, had shared his lung cancer diagnosis in December following an MRI. After a prolonged bronchitis episode, doctors discovered a cancerous spot on his left lung. Manilow expressed relief about the early discovery, thanks to a diligent doctor. He stated, It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early.
His upcoming surgery aimed to remove the spot, with no chemotherapy or radiation involved.
In February, Manilow announced further postponements in February and March after a very depressing visit
with his surgeon. He recounted a conversation at the time, quoting his doctor: Barry, you won’t be ready to do a 90-minute show. Your lungs aren’t ready yet.
Despite physical challenges, Manilow conveyed determination to return when ready, promising, When I do come back, I will COME BACK!
In May, Manilow informed fans of cancellations for his Hits Come Home residency at Westgate Resort in Las Vegas. However, he shared positive news about progress in his cancer treatment. Good news! I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I’m making great progress and look great!
he announced. Although unable to perform in Las Vegas in May, Manilow planned to resume performances in the UK in June.
Manilow reinforced his commitment to return to Las Vegas in July, calling Westgate Las Vegas his home away from home.
