As an Illinois-Chicago recruit and rising senior for the Vikings, Watson knew the significance of igniting team momentum. “I take pride in my game being the spark plug for the team,” said Watson. “Getting the dugout fired up and the momentum started in our favor was really huge.”
Watson Leads the East in Victory
During the Double Duty Classic, Watson delivered a standout performance by hitting a leadoff triple, then scoring the first run to help the East All-Stars defeat the West All-Stars 9-2. Watson shared the Minnie Minoso Award for co-MVP with Marian Catholic’s Jazarris Mackmore, who achieved three hits including a two-run double.
