Netanyahu Celebrates America’s 250th Independence Day

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his congratulations to the United States on its 250th Independence Day anniversary, highlighting the strong alliance between Israel and the U.S.

As the nation commemorates this milestone, there is an opportunity to reflect on foundational values. These values are deeply rooted in the Judeo-Christian principles that influenced the formation and evolution of the United States. The fundamental concepts of liberty, human dignity, justice, and morality have origins in a biblical worldview.

The American government system draws inspiration from biblical scriptures. The prophet Isaiah’s words, “the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king” (Isaiah 33:22), reflect the division into three branches of government. Our laws are informed by the Old Testament and the Ten Commandments, emphasizing a trust in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as seen on the one-dollar bill with the motto “In God We Trust.”

These principles provide another reason to endorse Israel. The courage and determination of Israel’s defenders, particularly evident after the attacks on October 7, showcase a commitment to freedom and a moral framework. These ideals resonate with American values and underscore the historical and biblical roots shared by both nations.

The partnership with Israel transcends political boundaries, resting on shared faith and history. A poll by Infinity Concepts and Grey Matter Research pointed to a decline in support for Israel among younger Evangelicals, with only 29% of those under 35 recognizing Jewish people as God’s chosen. This should concern those who appreciate the historical roots of the United States.

Reaffirming common principles that began with the ancestors of Jewish neighbors strengthens the U.S.-Israel alliance. The collaboration between the two countries’ militaries, exemplified by recent joint operations against Iran’s nuclear pursuits, showcases a relationship built on hope, truth, and freedom. Admiral Brad Cooper’s visit to Israel highlights a continued emphasis on strategic relationships and defense cooperation.

As America celebrates 250 years of liberty, maintaining support for Israel honors our shared moral foundations. Both nations benefit from fostering a partnership based on historical connections and mutual values.
