Taylor Swift’s NBA Finals Appearance Sparks Mixed Reactions

Taylor Swift made waves at Madison Square Garden during Game 4 of the NBA Finals. Her presence attracted significant attention, including a critical remark from Monica McNutt, an ESPN analyst.

As the arena’s jumbotron spotlighted Swift among other celebrities such as Timothee Chalamet, Larry David, and Ben Stiller, McNutt’s reaction was less than enthusiastic. She questioned the singer’s loyalty to the New York Knicks.

“Is that Taylor Swift? She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl,” McNutt stated.

The crowd’s response to Swift was mostly positive, with cheers greeting her when shown on the video board. Among the celebrity attendees, Swift stood out as a major attraction. Well-known figures including Tracy Morgan, Rainn Wilson, Jimmy Fallon, Jerry Seinfeld, and Kevin Jonas filled the courtside seats.

Taylor Swift’s connection to the Knicks is not new. She has appeared at Madison Square Garden for Knicks games since 2014, often seen with former Knicks players Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire. During her recent visit, she wore a “Stevie Knicks” shirt, showcasing her characteristic playfulness with fashion.

Tyler Murray, the play-by-play announcer alongside McNutt, had a different perspective. Rather than question Swift’s allegiance, he captured the moment by taking a photo to share with his wife.

Meanwhile, the Knicks’ performance on the court was initially disappointing. The San Antonio Spurs controlled the game early on, leading 76-49 by halftime. However, the Knicks staged an impressive comeback, ultimately winning 107-106 to create the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.

OG Anunoby’s decisive basket in the final seconds secured this historic victory for the Knicks.
