14-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured in West Ridge Shooting
A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition following a shooting on Friday afternoon in the West Ridge neighborhood. The incident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on the 6300 block of North Rockwell Street. This information was confirmed by police sources and from an initial notification by Chicago police.
Witnesses reported that gunfire originated from a blue Honda Accord, which then fled the scene. The boy was struck in the neck and quickly transported to Lurie Children’s Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
There is no confirmation on whether the boy was the intended target of the shooting. His parents were present but unharmed during the incident. Rogers Park (24th) District officers accompanied them to the hospital.
