White House Rebukes Natalie Maines After Comments on Trump

The White House issued a strong response to comments made by Natalie Maines, lead singer of The Chicks, targeting President Donald Trump. Referring to Maines as a ‘despicable nobody’ with a ‘peanut-sized brain,’ the White House criticized her remarks, which they described as symptomatic of ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’

This came after Maines, during The Chicks’ anniversary tour for ‘Taking the Long Way’ in Manhattan, revisited past criticisms of former President George W. Bush. She humorously suggested that she would prefer Bush over Trump, stating she would ‘give George (W.) Bush a big wet kiss’ now considering the current presidency.

Reference to Her 2003 Statement: ‘Just so you know, we do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.’

Her comments reignited discussions on social media, receiving both criticism and support. Some attendees of The Chicks’ concert expressed frustration over political statements interrupting the music, while supporters praised Maines for her willingness to speak out.

Earlier, Maines had drawn attention for an Instagram post lambasting Trump, accusing him of endangering democracy and misusing resources. This profanity-laden post also led to a formal rebuke from the White House. Despite the controversy, Maines’ remarks found supporters who believed that her criticism remained pertinent both then and now.

The White House reiterated its position, maintaining that Maines suffers from what they term as ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’
