Vice President JD Vance on DOJ Investigation

Vice President JD Vance stated that the Trump administration has no intention of interfering in a Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation related to Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., following a raid at her Washington, D.C., home. The raid was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the investigative branch of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Vance emphasized that if any evidence of immigration fraud is uncovered, the law will be upheld. He stressed the importance of letting facts guide the legal process, without political interference. “We really want to let the law, the facts drive this,” Vance said, adding that the administration does not intend to micromanage the DOJ’s activities.

Critics highlighted similar accusations of political persecution during President Biden’s tenure, particularly noting the FBI’s investigation at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, which involved classified documents. That investigation ceased when Trump regained the presidency in 2024.

Rep. Omar dismissed the investigation’s claims about alleged immigration violations as politically motivated. She addressed the raid on social media, labeling it an attempt to target political opponents.

Vance reiterated the administration’s commitment to following legal protocols, regardless of political dynamics. He described Omar’s criticism of the U.S. and remarked on the importance of evaluating actions based on facts and law.

At a campaign rally in Texas, Vance supported Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a tight race against Democratic state Rep. James Talarico. As Election Day approached, Vance reinforced the administration’s stance of maintaining control based on legal procedures and facts, highlighting the differences from previous administrations.

Fox News Digital attempted to contact Omar’s office for additional comments but had not received a response prior to publication.
