Videos captured a violent altercation on Saturday night at a Chipotle located in the Navy Yard neighborhood. The footage shows young individuals involved in physical fights, throwing punches and chairs while other patrons looked on with fear.
On Monday, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, addressed the incident, emphasizing her commitment to holding parents accountable if their children engage in criminal activities. She urged the D.C. Council to swiftly enact an emergency youth curfew measure in response to the chaos.
“Parents need to be aware of their children’s actions and ensure they adhere to the law,” Pirro stated.
Pirro’s proposal aims to reduce youth crime rates by imposing legal consequences on guardians. This move seeks to increase parental responsibility and limit unsupervised activities that may lead to disturbances or criminal behavior.
