Trump Accuses Abdul El-Sayed of Ties to Muslim Brotherhood

President Donald Trump recently accused Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed of being linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. Trump made these remarks during a luncheon in the White House Rose Garden, suggesting El-Sayed is a ‘100% Muslim Brotherhood guy.’

El-Sayed has faced criticism from Republicans due to social media posts by his half-sister, Eman Abdelhadi. Abdelhadi alleged that their mother was involved with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt during the 1970s.

Despite these claims, El-Sayed denied any connections to the group. During an interview on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press,’ he firmly stated that neither he nor his family has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

El-Sayed argued that his political rivals focus on anti-Muslim rhetoric instead of his policy proposals. He expressed concerns that opponents, like Mike Rogers, use his faith and background to create suspicion.

He accused political opponents of engaging in anti-Muslim rhetoric rather than addressing his policy positions.

Abdelhadi’s posts, made in 2012, mentioned discussions with their mother about her activism in the Muslim Brotherhood. One post admired her involvement during her college years in the early 1970s.

Trump has stated his intent to visit Michigan to challenge El-Sayed’s candidacy further. He labeled El-Sayed a ‘fraud’ and a ‘con man’ during his address.

Fox News Digital has attempted to obtain comments from El-Sayed’s campaign regarding these accusations.
