NFL stars, including JuJu Smith-Schuster and Cooper Kupp, joined the crowd for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding at Madison Square Garden. Notable attendees included Kareem Hunt, Kelce’s current and former Kansas City Chiefs teammates, and his brother Jason, a retired Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl winner. San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and others from the football and golfing world were also expected. Soccer had an unusual presence with ‘Ted Lasso’ actor Jason Sudeikis, a Chiefs fan.
The wedding venue, Madison Square Garden, serves as the home arena for the NBA’s New York Knicks and NHL’s Rangers. Taylor Swift previously attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals there, witnessing a historic Knicks comeback. They rallied from a 29-point deficit to beat San Antonio in one of the greatest comebacks in playoff history.
Since its opening in 1968 above Penn Station, Madison Square Garden has hosted numerous iconic sports moments. This includes the Knicks’ first NBA title in 1970 with Willis Reed’s surprise return and Joe Frazier’s win over Muhammad Ali in the ‘Fight of the Century’ in 1971. Ali captured victory in their rematch in 1974. In 1994, the Rangers broke a 54-year championship drought by defeating the Vancouver Canucks to secure the Stanley Cup.
Travis Kelce is celebrated as a three-time Super Bowl champion with Kansas City. He has earned four AP All-Pro honors at tight end. His brother Jason Kelce was a seven-time All-Pro center and played a pivotal role in the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2017 Super Bowl victory.
