Huge flames erupted from the entrance of a venue in Bangkok, where inappropriate materials were reportedly used for soundproofing. More than two dozen lives were lost in this tragic incident.
Emergency workers were seen moving victims into ambulances following the fire at a bar in the northern part of Bangkok. Atipat Wijan, a regular performer at the beer hall, mentioned that circuit breakers often tripped there. He initially ignored a faint burning smell near the stage late Sunday night. Moments later, a massive blaze engulfed the entrance of the bar, resembling a giant flamethrower. An explosion followed. In desperation, some patrons shattered glass windows to escape, while others fled toward the back, where many perished. Officials later revealed that certain exits were blocked or inaccessible.
“There were 11 of us there and two of my colleagues, including my girlfriend, are gone,”
Atipat expressed in an interview, his voice trembling with emotion. “Everything happened so fast.” By Monday evening, Thai authorities reported the death toll had reached 28, with many others injured, over two dozen critically. They did not provide details on the victims or the precise cause of death.
This incident marks the latest tragedy at an entertainment venue in Bangkok. The city is a popular international destination but has developed a reputation for danger due to its generally low safety standards.
