Thousands of beer cans scattered across a Connecticut road early Tuesday after a tractor-trailer accident. Authorities closed the highway for several hours as a result.
The incident occurred around 5:39 a.m. on Route 44 near Twin Lakes Road in Salisbury, according to Connecticut State Police. The truck veered off the road and overturned, sustaining significant damage. This led to its cargo of beer being spilled across the roadway.
Photos from state police revealed the overturned tractor-trailer, with cans of Michelob Ultra and Bud Light littering the road. The highway remained closed for hours while crews worked to clear the debris and remove the wrecked truck.
State police thanked drivers for their patience and for using alternate routes during the closure. Several agencies, including local firefighters, EMS crews, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the Department of Consumer Protection, and towing services, aided in the cleanup efforts.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Local reports indicate that the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was not alerted about the accident.
