The Maryland women’s basketball team is set to open their season on Monday, facing top-ranked South Carolina in a highly anticipated match in Paris. The team looks strong this year with significant returns and new talent additions.
Among the promising returns is guard Bri McDaniel, who is back on the court after missing the entire 2025-26 season. She had been sidelined due to a torn ACL, but now her comeback is expected to play a critical role in the Terps’ performance.
Additionally, the Maryland team has bolstered its lineup with a top-10 freshman class, bringing fresh energy and skill to the court. Alongside new recruits, they have also acquired a pair of experienced players via the transfer portal. These strategic additions are poised to enhance the team’s competitive edge this season.
The blend of returning players and new recruits suggests Maryland is prepared to challenge top-tier teams, with existing members showing significant potential to make impactful contributions. This combination of experienced and new talents sets high expectations for the Terps as they embark on the new season.
