Taste of Orland Park Expands with More Food Options and Entertainment

Visitors attending the Taste of Orland Park from July 31 to August 2 will experience a broader selection of food options, including offerings from local restaurants. Mayor Jim Dodge mentioned efforts to enhance seating arrangements, with shaded areas being added behind the main stage to accommodate the 30,000 attendees expected at the annual three-day festival.

Dodge stated, “And then we’re also going to kind of change the road access behind the stage, make it safer for patrons as they’re walking around. We’re trying to balance the needs of the vendors and people wanting to walk around.” He highlighted the increase in participating vendors, with 22 this year compared to 15 in 2025. Returning vendors include Barraco’s, Buona Beef, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, and several others. New additions feature Barone’s, Fogo de Chao, Jet’s Pizza, and more.

“As you can imagine, not every restaurant has the ability to have staff in two places and keep the restaurant open,” Dodge noted. “So it’s actually hard or challenging for the vendors to be at Taste of Orland. We’re thrilled that over all these years, we’ve got so many people that are coming out here.” Mayor Dodge expressed enthusiasm about Jim Cornelison’s performance at the Veterans Tribute, honoring local veterans and active-duty service members.

Cornelison, the renowned national anthem singer for the Chicago Blackhawks, will perform on August 1. The tribute takes place during the United States’ 250th birthday year. Cornelison has also performed at prestigious events such as the Indianapolis 500 and NHL Stanley Cup celebrations.

This year’s entertainment lineup includes Barometer Soup on Friday, performing Jimmy Buffett hits, alongside other acts like the Carl Sandburg Marching Eagles and Rok Brigade. Saturday features Petty Kings known for Tom Petty covers, Hillbilly Rockstarz, and more. Sunday’s acts include Sounds of Summer playing Beach Boys hits and Billy Nation.

The festival moved back to Village Green after being held at Centennial Park West in 2024. The decision was influenced by Village Board members who preferred the site for convenience and proximity to amenities. Dodge remarked on logistical challenges faced at Centennial Park West and the benefits of Village Green, such as its cooling centers and restrooms.

The festival operates on a $500,000 budget, with last year’s expenses reaching $322,000. Revenue included $130,000 from the previous year, with $116,000 in sponsorships secured so far. Additional details and parking information are available at Orland Park’s official website.
