Cali Overs spent her senior year actively engaging with local, state, and federal officials in response to a significant development. Homeland Security’s acquisition of a warehouse near her Arizona high school prompted Cali to take action.
Advocating for Change
Her efforts culminated in a city hall meeting in early February. It was around midnight when Cali approached the lectern. The mayor, Kevin Sartor, and others observed her presentation.
A Community Gathering
After her last day of high school, Cali and her friends gathered at a Dutch Bros Coffee shop in Surprise, Arizona. Kali Overs received a supportive hug from her friend Karma Wilson.
