Spencer Pratt Criticizes Karen Bass Amid L.A. Mayoral Race

Spencer Pratt has expressed criticism towards Mayor Karen Bass, referring to them as ‘alleged criminal partners.’ The controversy arises from reactions to Bass’s comments on Los Angeles’s homelessness program. Reports indicate $418 million has been spent, yet only 10% of individuals have been effectively moved off the streets.

Karen Bass commented on the resistance within the homelessness system. Pratt argues this confirms his belief that some have benefited from the ongoing crisis. He claimed organizations were misusing tax money, exacerbating issues rather than solving them. Pratt also mentioned instances of animal abuse on Skid Row and shared his goals for a safer city.

Bass was criticized following a CNN interview at St. Vincent Behavioral Health Campus, a site planned for mental health services. She attributed the lack of progress on homelessness to internal resistance. Bass said, “The city and the county never made that commitment before.” She highlighted bureaucratic obstacles as major hurdles to addressing the issue.

Pratt seized on these comments, labeling the current Los Angeles administration and its partners as resistant to reform due to financial interests. He criticized the handling of the crisis, claiming negligence has led to multiple deaths daily on the streets. Pratt emphasized strong oversight would be a priority if elected, ensuring accountability for tax expenditures.

Spencer Pratt’s campaign is gaining momentum, buoyed by public support post-Palisades Fire in 2025. His debate performances and viral campaign ads further established his bid. Recent accusations of Bass violating election law by campaigning near voting sites surfaced. According to Pratt, Bass’s actions contravened California election rules about proximity to ballot boxes.

Bass’s spokesperson stated these allegations were unfounded and asserted compliance with legal requirements. They dismissed Pratt’s claims as baseless, highlighting a distinction between actual voters and perceived AI supporters of Pratt’s campaign.
