Sherrionn’s Musical Journey: A Rising Star Ready for More

After a bustling summer that featured a performance at Lollapalooza and the debut of her mixtape, R&B singer Sherrionn is eagerly anticipating her next steps. A 2012 graduate of Crete-Monee High School, she has expressed plans to release another project soon. ‘We’re working on more music and getting my face out there,’ she shared.

Ten years after dropping her first track, Sherrionn has reached a pivotal point in her career. With increasing demands on her time, she remains focused on her music. After signing with Chop Squad Records, an independent label by Chicago rapper and producer Young Chop, Sherrionn released her debut mixtape, ‘Honey Trap.’ Her single ‘Body’ has garnered over 430,000 views on YouTube since its release on May 19, showcasing her dancing skills with smooth, engaging choreography.

Sherrionn’s sultry vocals in ‘Body’ are enhanced by Th3 Ink Factory’s atmospheric and bass-heavy production. Her love for R&B began early, with influences from artists like Bobby Caldwell, Luther Vandross, and The Emotions, introduced to her by a kindergarten teacher.

‘I found my voice at a young age,’ she said. ‘My mom discovered me singing, which led to my parents enrolling me in choir all through school.’ Her music video for ‘Slow,’ filmed on Chicago’s South and West Sides, has attracted about 120,000 views since its release in August 2026.

At Crete-Monee High School, she trained in classical singing, which she has since moved away from in favor of a style that blends R&B, pop, and hip-hop. Sherrionn pursued singing as a career because ‘anytime I tried something else, I couldn’t stay away.’ She obtained a degree in audio engineering and recording arts from the former Tribeca Flashpoint College.

Returning to Chicago after a brief time in Atlanta, she engaged with the local music scene, performing at Lollapalooza and Sofar Sounds in Pilsen. On July 31, Sherrionn captivated Grant Park attendees with a high-energy set at Lollapalooza, featuring a move she hadn’t completed in rehearsals: ‘I did a split in the air while being lifted. It worked only on the Lollapalooza stage,’ she remarked.

While Lollapalooza was a highlight, she cherishes smaller shows like those at Sofar Sounds. ‘It’s easier to connect with the audience and truly engage with people,’ she noted. Beyond performing, Sherrionn identifies as an influencer, having amassed approximately 174,000 followers on TikTok.

‘Social media is essential for promoting my music,’ she said. ‘It’s easier for people to connect with your music when they feel they know you personally.’ Despite the various facets of her career, Sherrionn remains focused on growth and appreciation of her achievements. ‘I’m always seeking new achievements,’ she expressed. ‘I’m ready to continue growing.’
