The roots of Pizza Hut trace back to 1958 when brothers Dan and Frank Carney borrowed $600 from their mother to open the first location in Kansas. The name was dictated by the limited space on their sign, allowing only eight letters. Today, Pizza Hut operates over 16,000 outlets in more than 100 countries, although only a few have maintained the classic style until now.
Tim Sparks expressed his desire to restore Pizza Hut’s past glory. He envisions these retro makeovers as a draw to bring families back to the dining rooms with their loved ones.
