Pentagon to Livestream Execution of Fort Hood Shooter Nidal Hasan

The Pentagon has confirmed that the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, convicted for the Fort Hood shooting, will be available via livestream. This marks the first military execution in over 60 years.

The execution is set for December 3 at Fort Hood, Texas. A War Department official shared with Fox News Digital that the livestreaming details will be provided in due course.

Hasan, previously an Army major, carried out an attack on November 5, 2009, killing 13 and injuring 32 unarmed soldiers and civilians. He was heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” before opening fire at Fort Hood. Post his conviction in 2013, Hasan received the death sentence.

Former President Donald Trump endorsed the decision to employ an Army firing squad, as recommended by War Secretary Pete Hegseth. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell had previously communicated this via a public statement.

This execution, if conducted, would be the first of its kind by the U.S. military since 1961 and the first executed by a firing squad since 1945. Hasan is currently held on military death row at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
