Omos is one of WWE’s most imposing figures, but he hasn’t appeared in a WWE ring for two years. Instead, he has explored opportunities with other wrestling promotions. Omos briefly competed in Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan before making his mark at AAA’s Triplemania 33, where he won the Bardahl Cup and established himself as a formidable presence in Mexico.
In an interview prior to his match against Rey Mysterio at TripleMania 34 in Las Vegas, Omos expressed confidence in joining AAA after his stint in Japan. He stated, “I had a chance to go to Japan last year for Pro Wrestling Noah, and I think that prepared me for AAA. Experiencing a new culture and immersing myself in their wrestling culture was a phenomenal experience, and I believe it helped me.”
Recently, Omos found himself suspended from AAA following a heated confrontation with Mysterio, who serves as the AAA general manager. Though his official role was in question, Omos has stayed involved, even showing up as a paid spectator.
Omos will attempt to secure his place back on the roster during Night 1 of Triplemania 34 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. “I am excited to hand out the greatest beating of this lifetime to Rey Mysterio,” Omos declared with determination.
Rey Mysterio is a legendary WWE superstar and a revered figure in Lucha Libre history. However, Omos remains unfazed by Mysterio’s accolades, saying, “No, I don’t give a damn. It doesn’t matter, no. Not even in the slightest.”
As AAA commentator Corey Graves noted, Omos and Mysterio are crafting a gripping David and Goliath narrative that is sure to meet expectations.
