Nvidia Unveils Powerful Superchips for PCs and Data Centers

Nvidia introduced new superchips at the Computex 2026 exhibition in Taipei. CEO Jensen Huang announced the launch of chips designed to enhance AI capabilities in laptops and desktops. These models, featuring Nvidia’s RTX Spark superchip, are set for release later this year, with brands like Microsoft and Dell adopting the technology.

The RTX Spark superchip integrates CPU and GPU functions, allowing the new models to be labeled “AI personal computers.” These computers aim to revolutionize the PC industry by enabling local AI agent operations. Such agents can assist users by understanding commands, performing tasks like reading files, and conducting research.

Nvidia is poised to challenge its chipmaking competitors Intel and AMD with these advancements. The company’s stock rose nearly 4% following the announcement, whereas Intel and AMD experienced declines exceeding 3%.

Microsoft stated that PCs using RTX Spark superchips can handle “highly capable AI models” and complex workloads. This innovation marks a substantial update in PC reinvention, a sentiment echoed by tech analysts.

Lian Jye Su from Omdia emphasized increased consumer choice due to these developments. Neil Shah of Counterpoint Research highlighted the potential shift in PC design over the next decade. These devices aim to provide “AI supercomputer” capabilities at home.

Additionally, Nvidia’s CEO revealed their Vera CPUs for data centers are now in production, anticipated to drive growth amid rising AI demand. Early customers include firms like Anthropic, OpenAI, and SpaceXAI.

Huang also unveiled a new humanoid robot design, Isaac GR00T, standing nearly six feet tall. It features advanced hands developed by Sharpa, capable of precise movements. This robot could serve as a research and educational tool across various sectors.
