Uncertainty remains around the duration of the Mets’ use of this loophole. It is unclear whether fired manager Carlos Mendoza or interim manager Andy Green, or both, were responsible for these AI-driven decisions.
What can be established is that the Mets’ strategy using AI was fundamentally flawed. Potential issues could have arisen from incorrect prompts, faulty AI logic, or improper application of AI advice. The team’s poor roster may also have impeded any benefits of AI-driven analysis.
