A Minnesota prosecutor is taking action to extradite a federal officer involved in a shooting incident. Christian Castro, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer, faces charges following an incident in Minneapolis.
In January, Castro allegedly shot and injured a Venezuelan immigrant, leading to multiple counts of second-degree assault. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty is seeking to have Castro face these charges in Minnesota.
Moriarty reached out to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, urging him to authorize the extradition. She emphasized in her letter that Abbott’s approval is crucial for completing the transfer.
