Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert is standing by her son Tyler J. Boebert, who faces serious legal charges. The 21-year-old was arrested in Garfield County, Colorado, on Sunday. He is charged with five felony counts, including sexual exploitation of a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Allegations date back to an incident allegedly occurring in early 2024.
In a statement to Newsweek, Boebert expressed her support for her son while acknowledging the gravity of the situation. “I love my son,” she stated, emphasizing that they take the allegations seriously and praying for those affected.
While detailed information on the incident is pending, an unredacted affidavit is expected from Garfield County Court officials soon. Court records indicate that Tyler was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to return to court on August 19.
Tyler Boebert’s attorney, Joseph Gavaldon, who has previously represented him, did not respond for comments. Attempts to contact Tyler directly were also unsuccessful.
These charges add to Tyler’s legal challenges. Earlier this year, he faced misdemeanor child abuse charges after a lapse in supervision resulted in his 2-year-old son wandering away. Furthermore, he dealt with legal consequences from vehicle and credit card theft-related incidents, leading to a guilty plea to attempted identity theft and resultant probation.
Lauren Boebert, representing Colorado’s 4th congressional district, maintains her support for her son amid his public difficulties. She conveyed her persistent dedication to his well-being, recognizing the complexity of his situation and her commitment to helping him.
Boebert is a mother of four boys: Tyler, Brody, Kayden, and Roman. Her family life also includes a grandchild, the child of Tyler, born earlier this year. Her personal life saw changes as she divorced her husband, Jayson Boebert, in late 2023.
