Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson risks missing a second consecutive game because of an ankle injury. Although the Ravens have not yet officially counted the two-time NFL MVP out, his chances of playing appear bleak just three days before the Week 6 clash with the Cleveland Browns.
Jackson was absent from practice on Thursday, prompting The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec to suggest that the 29-year-old’s availability on Sunday seemed unlikely. Despite Jackson’s injury troubles, the Ravens sit atop the AFC North at 4-1, closely trailed by the Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh Steelers, all standing at 3-2.
The game against Cleveland is vital for Baltimore as it comes before their Week 7 home fixture against the Bengals, marking the start of their AFC North encounters this season.
Jackson’s only defeat this year was in Week 2 against a New Orleans Saints team currently at 1-4. The Louisville product and four-time Pro Bowler has faced injury concerns over recent years, missing five games in both the 2021 and 2022 seasons and four games last year.
This season, Jackson boasts a league-leading 119.6 passer rating across four games, completing 68 of 96 passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns, and a single interception. Additionally, he contributed 19 rushing attempts accumulating 144 yards and one touchdown.
Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley is well-known among Ravens fans. Huntley spent his initial four NFL seasons in Baltimore from 2020 to 2023 and was with the Miami Dolphins in 2024, starting five games before rejoining the Ravens in August 2025.
The undrafted Huntley, aged 28, has achieved a 67.1% completion rate, accruing 3,476 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions across 32 regular season games, including 17 starts. His performance in Week 5 included leading Baltimore to a “Sunday Night Football” overtime victory against the Atlanta Falcons, completing 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions.
