KC Navarro recently participated in a significant event at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s (TNA) Slammiversary. Although he did not win the X Division Championship, the experience proved memorable. Competing against his mentor, Amazing Red, added a special dimension to the match.
Navarro shared insights on battling his fear of heights during the competition. He emphasized the challenge of climbing the pillar to reach the title. Despite his apprehension, the presence of Amazing Red made the event meaningful.
“This Ultimate X match was more special than my first one at Rebellion last year,” Navarro stated to Fox News Digital. “I’m not fond of heights, so it takes me time to climb. Having Amazing Red involved was significant, as he has been a mentor throughout my career.”
Navarro fondly recalled past challenges, particularly Slammiversary from the previous year. Entering that competition with a torn ACL, he risked a lot in a ladder match against well-known opponents like The Hardys and The Rascalz.
This year, he approached Ultimate X with a new perspective and knee, recognizing the dangers involved. Falling the wrong way could have severe consequences, but the opportunity to compete for the X Division title was too valuable to ignore.
Competing alongside Amazing Red and other strong competitors like Leon Slater, Fabian Aichner, and Frankie Kazarian was an honor for Navarro. He expressed gratitude for sharing the ring with such talent.
“Facing my fear of heights is part of the job,” Navarro mentioned. “I keep God first and rely on adrenaline. When the bell rings, I focus entirely on the match, knowing it’s what I am meant to do.”
Navarro remains driven, maintaining a positive outlook and aiming to leave the ring both healthy and victorious. His ongoing rivalry with TNA world champion Nic Nemeth suggests a potential rise back to the top of the roster.
