Jim Caviezel, known for his roles embodying sacrifice, is stepping into another heroic character with his upcoming movie, “Ghost Soldier.” In this film, Caviezel stars as Henry “Fitz” Fitzgerald, a reclusive ex-Special Forces soldier and weapons developer who springs into action when a foreign corporation threatens his town. The trailer, available exclusively through Fox News Digital, showcases Fitz defending his community using his elite training and advanced weaponry.
Caviezel expressed to Fox News Digital that audiences are eager for stories that encapsulate faith, duty, and personal responsibility. “People want to see someone do the right thing, with all the odds stacked against them,” he mentioned, referring to this as a phenomenon witnessed in the success of “Sound of Freedom.”
The actor felt an instant connection to his character, drawn to Fitz’s moral integrity and dedication to justice. “I connected with Fitz right away because he’s a hero,” Caviezel explained. “He’s a Green Beret who serves his country and lives by a moral code he won’t break. He can’t walk away from an injustice, whatever it costs him.”

Caviezel, who previously portrayed Jesus in “The Passion of the Christ” and Tim Ballard in “Sound of Freedom,” discussed how portraying roles with strong convictions often brings personal sacrifice. He stated, “I want to play men who’ll sacrifice for what they believe. That’s the measure of a man, and it’s the story I keep coming back to.”
In recent years, Caviezel recognizes a resurgence in Americans’ efforts to protect their homes and communities, and “Ghost Soldier” aligns with this narrative. “Over the past few years, we’ve seen ordinary people standing up again, doing the right thing when it’s hard,” he noted.
The film also features Olivia Thirlby, Beau Knapp, Garret Dillahunt, and Shea Whigham, and will premiere on November 6.
