Incident Outside NBA Finals Watch Party Sparks Investigation

Authorities in New York City are seeking the public’s assistance to locate several men who allegedly attacked a San Antonio Spurs fan. This incident occurred after the Spurs defeated the New York Knicks on Monday. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has released images of the suspects linked to the assault.

The confrontation took place outside a watch party held at Bryant Park for the NBA Finals Game 3. Fans gathered to watch the match between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs on June 8, 2026. Due to heightened security, authorities canceled another viewing event near Madison Square Garden, urging attendees to arrive early because President Donald Trump was present.

According to the NYPD, the assailants attacked the victim physically by punching and kicking him before stripping off his Spurs jersey. The assault happened at approximately 12:17 a.m. as the 39-year-old victim was on his way back to his hotel. Following the attack, the group fled the scene. The injured individual received medical treatment at a hospital and is expected to recover.
