Authorities in Illinois are actively searching for a young woman who has been missing for over a week. The Palatine Police Department revealed that Alyssa Smith, age 24, went missing on September 30 following a trip to Chicago with her boyfriend. Her mother confirmed these details to Fox News Digital.
Rebecca Smith, Alyssa’s mother, has been actively posting on social media, sharing pleas for her daughter’s safe return. She reported that Alyssa’s boyfriend, Jacob Ray Caso, came back from Chicago without her, which has raised concerns.
A Facebook post by Alyssa’s boyfriend featured a missing persons notice, urging her to come home as no one harbors any anger towards her. At this point, Caso is not suspected of any crime or misconduct.
The Palatine Police Department mentioned that detectives are working diligently on the case. They have received reports suggesting that Alyssa might have been spotted on October 3 in areas such as Grant Park, as well as near Cicero Avenue and Roosevelt Road. These sightings are under investigation to verify her current whereabouts.
Alyssa Smith is described as a White female, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing between 135 and 140 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. Her social media indicates she is employed at a Chipotle. She has multiple body piercings and several tattoos, including one depicting the “Pennywise” clown on her left shoulder.
She was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light khaki-colored pants or sweatpants, and white Adidas sneakers. The police urge anyone who recognizes Smith or knows her current location to contact their local law enforcement agency or dial 911.
