Cole’s Downfall
Ser Criston Cole leads the remaining Green soldiers into a Team Black camp, expecting slaughtered rivermen. The apparent massacre is a ruse, and the rivermen rise to attack. Someone yells, “It’s a trap!” confirming the ambush. Cole is faced by Roddy the Ruin and Oscar Tully, attempting a diplomatic solution before going down with arrows striking his chest and face. Alysanne Blackwood delivers the fatal shot. Cole’s ineptitude led his men to disaster.
Daemon’s Rage
At Rhaenyra’s Small Council, Daemon mourns the 25 Gold Cloaks found murdered last week. His mourning involves sneering and throwing goblets. He suggests burning Ormund and his men out of Tumbleton, a plan that could harm innocent subjects. Alyn and others propose using precision tactics from Oscar Tully’s army, although the army is two weeks away. Rhaenyra sends assassins instead, assigning Daemon to investigate the Gold Cloak murders.
Street Tactics
Daemon dresses as a Gold Cloak, seeking Ormund’s spies in Flea Bottom. He quickly finds a higher-up spy — a former Red Keep guard. Daemon silences the spy in a brutal fashion, after the guard incites the people against the Greens.
Baratheon Alliance
Rhaenyra meets with a small House Baratheon contingent, who officially support her, though their lord is away. She tasks them with assassinating Ormund and Daeron in Tumbleton.
Tension in Flea Bottom
In the Vale, Rhaena attempts to contact her sister, angering Lady Jeyne Arryn. Lady Jeyne chastises Rhaena for failing to stay hidden.
Aemond’s Concealment
At Harrenhal, Alys and Aemond’s relationship deepens. Aemond considers leaving to find Vhagar, while Alys suggests Vhagar’s absence is strategic. She reveals five dragon eggs laid by Dreamfyre.
Royal Reckoning
Back in Tumbleton, Ormund lectures Daeron and Gwayne on treating inferiors before Baratheon assassins approach. Gwayne recognizes them and combats the threat, leaving Ormund unsettled.
Assassination Plans
Alicent requests Rhaenyra send Helaena away for safety, exchanging information about Aemond’s location. Rhaenyra plans an assassination at Harrenhal, involving Alicent to garner Aemond’s trust.
Concerns arise over Helaena’s vulnerability and potential reactions to Rhaenyra’s throne room incident.
