Homicide Investigation in Grand Crossing

Authorities in Chicago are investigating a homicide following the discovery of a 59-year-old man’s body in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. The body was found with cuts and trauma to the face on a street early Thursday morning.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was located in the 300 block of West 76th Street shortly before 5:15 a.m. The man suffered lacerations and facial injuries. Emergency services transported him to UChicago Medicine, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday to determine the cause of death. Detectives from the Wentworth Area are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Currently, no suspects are in custody.
